Apple Dicky - Fern Burrows

Lump of butter – 2oz

1 cup sugar

3tsp backing powder

2 cups flour

½ cup water

pinch of salt

1 egg

Put sliced apples (or apple sauce) in baking dish. 

Pour batter over apples. 

Sprinkle with spices (nutmeg, cinnamon.) 

Dot with butter
